Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract. Combine well.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Fold in the minced garlic and grated cheese if using.
  5. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron, spreading evenly.
  7. Cook the waffles until golden brown and crisp, about 4-5 minutes or according to your waffle iron’s settings.
  8. Remove from the waffle iron and serve immediately.
